Midway Coop announced a $5,000 grant to The Osborne County FFA Chapter.  In addition to the funds contributed by Midway Coop, the contribution will be matched dollar for dollar by a CHS Seeds for Stewardship grant, which helps cooperatives grow their impact locally. Together more than $10,000 will benefit The Osborne County FFA Chapter.

Funds received will be placed into an endowment that will grow every year to create a sustainable source of financial support for the agricultural education program and FFA chapter for many years to come. The accumulated funds will be used to create an agriculture program and FFA chapter that produces well rounded students who will be valuable members of the community and agriculture industry. The sustainability of the endowment will also ensure Osborne County High School will not lose its agricultural education program from the Career and Technical Education curriculum as has previously happened.

USD 392 Osborne County Agricultural Education is a program focused on teaching students about the food, fiber, and natural resources systems which culminate in the agriculture industry. Courses in the program are taught in a mindset of real-world application and hands-on experiences. The Osborne County FFA Chapter is an intracurricular part of the Agricultural Education program and prepares students for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success in agriculture and many other industries.  “We’re proud to support this project as a way to strengthen agricultural education,” says Midway Coop General Manager, Craig Mans. “Projects like this are essential to the future success of our students.  Midway Coop is proud to combine resources with CHS to double the impact and provide $10,000!”
